The Wolf Pack: Medium Scale Art Projects

The maximum award for Medium Scale Art Projects Grants is $500 per grant. The deadline for the Medium Scale Projects Grant applications was April 15 at 11:59PM.

What will the Medium Scale Art Project Grant Cover?

This grant covers materials, consumables, fixed assets and operational costs (such as propane) that are necessary to the art piece. This can include rentals.

Transport costs will also be covered but cannot take up more than 50% of grant funds, this is the same for fuel.

Fixed Assets (e.g. tools, structures, electronics) may be submitted, but should be specialized, essential to the functionality of the project, and should be a relatively small portion of the expense (i.e. A $50 tool in an $800 project is reasonable. A $50 wood sculpture requiring an $800 band saw is not).

Please explore alternatives to tool purchase first. Tools and other fixed assets may be available for low-cost rental from a rental agency, or even a free loan from a community member. Don’t know a community member with a band saw? Ask on the various social media pages and email lists; people love to help!

What will the Medium Scale Art Project Grant NOT Cover?

These grants will not cover labour expenses, tickets to the event, personal outfits, gifts, alcohol, or any illegal substances in Alberta.

Who is eligible?

Any individual or established group may apply. For teams and groups, please have only one person submit an application for the group. The applicant(s) must attend Freezer Burn and must deliver the art project, if selected, or the grant is void and any advance money paid by Freezer Burn will be recouped.

How will grants be paid?

Successful applicants will be asked to sign a contract in order to receive their grant. 20% of the grant amount will be paid upon signing the contract and returning it the ARTery Financial Coordinator. A failure to return the signed contract to the ARTery Financial Coordinator will result in the ARTery withholding your 20% advanced payment.

The final 80% will be paid upon completion of the project, submission of the expense report, and delivery of copies of all receipts to the ARTery Financial Coordinator. Please be sure to read the contract fully.

A failure to execute your art project, bring it to Freezer Burn, or submit your receipts and expense report will result in the ARTery withholding your grant money and can impact your eligibility for future grants.
