Centre Camp

Centre Camp has many functions, but one of the best things about it? Hot coffee! You guessed it - We have the best fire-side coffee baristas the Fraya can offer! Stop by to check out the art, get information about events, listen to some music, enjoy the fire, or return an item to the Lost & Found. You can also talk to one of our volunteers about how to host an event in our space!

What we do

Centre Camp is the common area of Freezer Burn, and like the Centre Camp at Burning Man, offers a space to rest, reflect, appreciate, communicate and enjoy. There are only three wood burning campfires at Freezer Burn, and one of them is at Centre Camp. Bring your own cup and get filled with possibly the best cup of coffee the Fraya can provide - If you are a barista or purveyor of fine coffee, this may be the place for you. Organized ice sales (sometimes less reliable than other times) can also be arranged through Centre Camp which saves you walking up the hill to the house! Centre Camp is also the new location for the Lost & Found.

Team Dynamics

Centre Camp can be run with a team of volunteers, but it is best to have one or two in the Lead or Co-Lead positions. Both Leads should be on-site for the duration of the event and they are the individuals that schedule the volunteer shifts. Centre Camp also directly interacts with the landowner “House” who supplies ice for sale at the event. Centre Camp works closely with the Placement and Lost & Found teams.
