We know a lot of people are already thinking about Freezer Burn, along with us on the Production Team. Unfortunately all things Freezer Burn 2026 have come to a halt at this time.
The non-profit group The League of Extraordinary Albertans that oversees all things Alberta Burning is currently working on some emerging and pressing issues that have led to this stop work. We understand the issues are significant and effect critical and fundamental processes that Freezer Burn is based on. The path to resolution of that sort usually takes months and as we are were in the thick of planning things, Freezer Burn 2026 is effectively cancelled. (Much better to take a break and sort things out safely and properly than to run the event missing vital processes).
The LEA will have an update by Feb. 1, which we will share on the news page here when we have it to share.
We of the Production Team are so very grateful for the passion and hard work of all our volunteers, artists, and participants. There is a lot of time invested in this festival every year and this will be very difficult to move through. In the meantime, the Production Team does not have any other details.
This space will continue to provide any updates as we have them.

Unofficial camp No More Tan Lines stand behind you and understand it wasnt a easy decision to make. Thanks you for all that you have done for us! You have created a place for life changing memories, I value every year I get to spend on the Freya, and my heart is still with the burners when we cant.
